Also found in ‘Lest They Be Forgotten’ – researched by L E Alley and edited by P Cooper. Caption reads: Bulga Picnic Group 1914. The bonny babe in his mother’s arms on right of picture is Ron Harris. What we found out: Charles Edwin Pfeiffer was among the more than 330.000 Australians who volunteered to serve overseas in the first World War. He signed up in November 1915, He left Australia for Egypt on HMAT Wandilla on 3 February 1916. He died in France in August 1916 aged 19 years. His occupation was listed as Mail Carrier and his address was Elands Post Office. Pfeiffer E C is listed on the Bulga Honour Roll. Ron Harris was born 6 May 1914.
when i look at the lower left figure it seems as though he is in a rough uniform. But to me he looks a lot older.
