July Artist Jarra Hicks
“Our New Front Door”
I took up leadlighting after my son was born and I only had small moments of time to do some art, and lead lighting allows for this in a way that pottery (my other artistic passion) does not. I love colored glass and the way the light plays through it. I also love keeping crafting traditions alive ad fostering do-it-yourself skills. This piece was inspired by the leadlight in the front door of Bruce’s cabin at the mill. I love the art nouveau feel of the lines. It is a happy way to greet people at the front door of our home!
